QUALIFICATIONS: 60 college credit hours or an Associates Degree or Kentucky Para Educator Certificate. Desire minimun of one year experience in the supervision of children.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Classroom Teacher

SUPERVISES: Students

JOB GOAL:Assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups; monitor and report student progress.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Tutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing and implementing instructors as directed by the teacher; maintain records of student progress.

2.Prepare and organize lessons as directed by the teacher; administer tests developed by teachers.

3.Work with teachers in the development of an individual management plan on each student.

4.Monitor and report behavior of students according to procedures; report progress regarding student performance and behavior.

5.Assist in supervising students while outside of classroom.

6.Assist students by providing proper examples; emotional support, a friendly attitude and general guidance.

7.Confer, as needed, with teachers concerning programs and materials to meet student needs.

8.Assure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and regulations.

9.Participate in meetings and professional development programs as assigned.

10.Perform related duties as assigned by principal or teacher.

11.You may be asked to perform health related services for students after you have been trained.

12. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
