JOB GOAL:To assist the Principal in fulfilling his/her responsibilities of promoting the educational well being of each student scheduled under the leadership of each academic team.Build team relationships among the members and a “connectedness” that will make a real difference in the work they are doing with the students.Provide a positive communications link throughout the school and with the Principal.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Schedules and presides over regular team meetings with an agenda.

2.Serves on Budget Committee with the Principal to establish a school budget.

3.Coordinates the scheduling and documentation of parental conferences with the academic team.

4.Coordinates all field trips for the academic team.

5.Coordinates the student class schedule with guidance counselor and fellow academic team members.

6.Coordinates interdisciplinary curriculum schedules with related arts team members.

7.Coordinates the ISAAP record-keeping with team members and ISAAP teacher.

8.Maintains all students’ class schedules and medical release forms for academic team members.

9.Coordinates with the counselor the SBARC meetings.

10.Coordinates the “Student of the Week” program.

11.Coordinates the selection of “academic” awards.

12.Sends out notices to parents regarding possible retention after 3rd six weeks.

13.Coordinates referrals for student testing program.

14.Coordinates the team projects/activities.

15.Assists the counselor in student schedule changes during the school year.

16.Disseminates information to the team members received from the Central Office, Principal, and Guidance Counselor.

17.Coordinates the selection of the “top ten” students in each grade for the awards day program.

18.Coordinates the review of student cumulative folders contents to better educated the students being served.

19.Serves as spokesperson for their academic team in PTSO, PTA meetings, etc.

20.Serves as liaison between the principal and the team members.

21.Establish and enforce discipline rules within the teams.

22.Submits reports to the principal as deemed necessary.

23.Establish and monitor team goals.

24.Assist the team in implementing the middle school philosophy.

25.Coordinates the involvement of other resource personnel.

26.Help team members see opportunities for flexible scheduling and the need for regrouping students for instruction.

27.Establish individual assignments within the team for the year.

28.Performs any other duties which may be assigned by Principal.
